SummerCampWe have five different summer camps to meet the needs of the children in our community: Preschool Camp (for children age 3-5), Day Camp (for children who have completed Kindergarten-5th grade), Adventure Camp (for children who have completed Kindergarten-5th grade; takes two field trips a week), Junior Leaders Camp (for children who have completed 6-8th grades), and Sports Camp. Our camps (for ages 3 years - 8th grade) surround every child with support, guidance and fantastic chances to discover and learn. A chance to try until they succeed. A chance to explore new talents and interests. We’re here to show kids all they can accomplish when they believe in themselves. They thrive, knowing they can relax in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. We are here to create experiences that immerse them in an atmosphere that inspires, guiding them to live healthy, help others and work together, making strong friendships that often last a lifetime. We also provide before & after school care and child care during school breaks.

Day Camp*

Day Camp begins TBD

Our traditional day camp provides a summer program that meets the needs of all families. You may bring your child for full-day or half-day care, one to five days a week to fit your schedule. We provide a safe environment with friendly and qualified staff. Activities include gym time, swimming and outdoor activities to promote physical fitness and fun; access to the game room; arts and crafts and movie time. Children swim Monday - Friday and will need to bring a bathing suit and towel every day.

Camp runs from 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Before and after care is available for Day Campers from 6:30am until 6:30pm. Participants must have completed Kindergarten and not started 6th grade.

  • Registration fee (must be paid up-front, one-time/summer fee, non-refundable): $25
  • Full day (6+ hours) $27/day members; $40/day non-members and Half day (less than 6 hours) $16/day members; $30/day non-members

Adventure Camp*

Adventure Camp begins the week of TBD

Campers will enjoy two field trips per week to exciting, engaging destinations. The remaining days of the week, children will participate in physical and social developmental activities here at the Y. Children swim on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and will need to bring a bathing suit and towel on these days. Camp runs from 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Before and after care is available for Adventure Campers from 6:30am until 6:30pm. Participants must have completed Kindergarten and not yet started 6th grade. Space is limited for Adventure Camp, so register early to save a spot! Those who sign up for adventure camp must attend the scheduled field trips, or pay $30 missed-trip surcharge.

  • Registration fee (must be paid up-front, one-time/summer fee, non-refundable): $25
  • Five days per week with two field trips each week: $120/week members; $145/week

  • All trips are subject to change, some trips require parents/guardians to complete waivers before the trip.

Junior Leaders Camp*

Junior Leaders Camp begins the week of TBD

Our Junior Leaders Camp is for students who need a safe place to go during the summer while school is out. Our campers participate in many fun activities in and outside of the Y with an emphasis on volunteerism, giving back to their community and learning our four core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. Camp is held 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Before and after care is available for Junior Leaders from 6:30am until 6:30pm. Participants must have completed 6th grade and not yet started 9th grade.

  • Registration fee: $25 (one-time, must be paid at registration, non-refundable)
  • Five days per week with field trips: $120/week members; $145/week non-members or without two field trips each week: $80/week members; $105 non-members
  • Camp is held 9:00am-4:00pm
  • All payments must be paid in advance and are non-refundable & non-transferable.

Preschool Summer Camp*

Preschool Camp begins the week of TBD

Children will have a balanced day of activities, learning, play time and quiet time all based around a weekly theme. Children swim on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will need to bring a bathing suit and towel on these days.

  • Times: Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Ages: 3-5 years, MUST BE FULLY POTTY TRAINED
  • Registration fee (must be paid up-front, one-time/summer fee, non-refundable): $25
  • Full day (6+ hours) $24/day members; $35/day non-members and half day (less than 6 hours) $12/day members, $22/day non-members

Sports Camp*

YMCA Sports Camp focuses on improving sport skills through teamwork and friendly competition for preschool, youth, and middle/high school age groups. There will be a variety of sports to choose from with each session lasting one week. Sports campers will be given the opportunity to learn and develop new skills, and play games. 

  • Times: Monday-Fridays, Toddlers 9-10:00am (3-5yrs); Youth 10:30am-12:00pm (K-5th); MS/HS 12:30-2:00pm (6th-12th)
  • Ages/Grades: 3-5 years (Toddler), Kindergarten-5th grade (Youth), 6th-8th grade (Middle School), 9th-12th grade (High School)
  • Weekly Camp Fees: $40 members; $70 non-members

* All payments are to be paid in advance and are non-refundable & non-transferable. $10/week convenience fee for payments made after the Friday before attendance. Registration fee pays for supplies for the summer, and does not guarantee a spot in camp until the week's full payment has been made.


General Information

  • Children are required to come with sunscreen and a water bottle. Sunscreen must be initially, thoroughly applied by parents. Staff only assists in re-application periodically throughout the day.
  • Whiting School System will provide free breakfast and lunch at scheduled times or campers have the option to bring their own sack lunch.
  • There will be an additional charge for late pick-up. A $6.00 fee will be inquired for every five minutes after the time the camp ends.
  • All childcare payments are to be made by the previous Friday.
    • All weekly camp payments are non-refundable.
    • Adventure, Junior Leaders, and Sports Camps are paid for an entire week and payments are not pro-rated or refunded due to illness, vacations, or other absences. Payments made after the previous Friday will incur a $10 late fee per week.
    • Day Camp and Preschool Summer Camps will incur a $2 per day late fee.
    • Parents of children in Day Camp or Preschool Camp: if you have prepaid for a day and your child will be absent, you must call camp staff by 9:00am on the prepaid date. You will be issued a system credit good toward any remaining camp days. Any unused credits will expire at the end of summer. No refunds will be given for unused online credits.
